What is The Mummy MOT?
The Mummy MOT® is a baseline postnatal checkup after you have given birth. It’s a thorough examination to flag common postnatal conditions or things that can be improved to optimise recovery. It’s also an opportunity for you to talk to an experienced therapist about anything that is bothering you since you had your last baby.
Giving birth is as demanding as a sports event such as a marathon, which athletes prepare for and recover from. So it’s uncommon for nothing to be found during your Mummy MOT and most mums require some therapy to optimise recovery. From the Mummy MOT a bespoke recovery plan can be made and worked through with one of our Fixologists in follow-up appointments.
Curious about the potential benefits? France have an average of 12 postnatal follow-up appointments and there isn’t a market there for incontinence pads!
Who is it for?
Anyone who has had a baby! It’s never too late: some women come to us over 10 years after giving birth. Women who have gone through childbirth often experience trauma. Some of you live with pain or dysfunction for a long time. Others recover more fully, but feel unsure about how far you can push it in the gym, or want to get checked out before you return to exercise or start a new regime. The Mummy MOT will flag any ongoing issues so that you can pursue a treatment plan or a fitness regime with confidence.
