Antenatal Care
Mums-to-be come to us with a range of problems, from niggles and twinges to more serious discomfort. It’s common to feel uncomfortable when you are heavily pregnant, but it’s not normal to be in pain - usually it can be treated and resolved.
Whether you have something that’s worrying you, or you just want advice on keeping fit and healthy when you’re pregnant, we’re here to help with:
Your mobility and range of movement, so you can get into different positions when you give birth
Improving your pelvic floor length and strength
Increasing your strength to improve recovery after giving birth
Functional nutrition to help you and your baby get all the nutrients you need
Antenatal breathing exercises and class recommendations
Postnatal Treatment
Just because so many women suffer, doesn’t mean it’s ‘normal’. We can do a lot to help you.
Postnatal complications are very common and often go untreated, sometimes for years. Many women come to us because they haven’t recovered properly from tears & episiotomy scars, or they are suffering from bladder and/or sexual dysfunction, among many other complaints.
How can Fixology help?
For a general postnatal health check, a great place to start is The Mummy MOT - a full postnatal assessment that will check you for common complications and issues.
And then we will recommend a treatment plan for you with our Fixologists, that may cover:
Physiotherapy: including breathing, visceral manipulation, soft tissue release, scar tissue release, rehabilitation
Classes - unwind, (stretching, mobility and and breathing exercises), Introduction to Strength Training, Love Your Pelvic Floor workshop, Breathing and Meditation.
Or, if you have a specific condition and want treatment straight away, please book an appointment.

Many women suffer after childbirth, and what you’re experiencing is probably common, but that doesn’t mean you should suffer in silence. We can help you!

25% have diastasis
50% will experience pelvic organ prolapse
50% will suffer with incontinence and issues related to c-section recovery
Pelvic Floor Healthcheck
A Fixology Pelvic Floor Healthcheck is a check-up for women who are experiencing incontinence, prolapse or who just want to check how their pelvic floor muscles are holding up. Perhaps you want to start a new exercise regime or are trying to get pregnant?
At Fixology we see no reason why women shouldn’t have strong pelvic floor function and bladder control, whatever your life stage, and we have treatment plans available that can improve things for you.
What happens in a Pelvic Floor Healthcheck
At Fixology we take a Whole Body Approach and keep an open mind to establish the root cause of your problems. Every body is different but your appointment will likely include a vaginal examination (if you are comfortable with this). The healthcheck will likely assess:
Your functional movement and breathing mechanics
Your pelvic floor strength and endurance
Your pelvic floor contraction speed
Your pelvic floor function - whether you can contract and fully relax your pelvic floor when you want to
Menopause
Smart ways to approach the menopause
At Fixology we treat women throughout their life journey. As you reach perimenopause and menopause, you can experience a number of symptoms and it’s hard to know how best to manage them.
Now that women are having babies later in life, we see more women reaching perimenopause quite soon after giving birth. Managing your health so that your body is ready for this transition is key. We can help you if you are experiencing any of the following:
Joint pain
Poor pelvic floor function
Heart problems - palpitations/flutters
Weight gain (often around the middle)
Change in bone and tendon health
Brain fog
Low mood/mood swings
Fatigue
Treatment
Physiotherapy for musculoskeletal symptoms (inflammation and hormonal changes)
Physiotherapy for pelvic floor function
Functional nutrition - to manage diet and optimise gut and hormone health
Classes & Talks - our MenoSmarts programme will help with mobility and strength training, low-impact HIIT-based sessions to raise your metabolic rate and promote bone, tendon, heart and brain health. Other classes optimise pelvic floor function and breathing. Our monthly specialist talks will empower you with the knowledge to advocate for yourself and get the best possible outcomes as you navigate this stage of your life
